Movie Review #1
My first movie review. I chose to review the movie "The Uninvited" starring Emily Browning, Elizabeth Banks and Arielle Kebbel. I chose this movie because it is definitely one of my favorites. I did not want to see it when I heard about the movie but since I loved Mandy Moore (and thought that Arielle Kebbel was Mandy Moore lol) I decided to give it a chance. I was not disappointed. This is a movie well worth watching! I've watched it now over 10 times because I love it so much. Since this is my first movie review I'll tell you what it will consist of. I will give you a synopsis of the movie (so you know what you're getting into), then I'll you my opinion of it, I'll give you the best scene (or worst depending on what type of review it is) in the movie and then I will give a spoiler to the ending for those who aren't interested but want to know how it ends. So, here you go
Synopsis
So basically the movie is plotted around a girl named Anna (played by Emily Browning). Anna was sent away after seeing her mother die in a house explosion years ago. She returns home to see that her father has hooked up with the nurse, Rachael (played by Elizabeth Banks), who was taking care of her mother years ago. Reunited with her sister, Alex (played by Arielle Kebbel), the girls know something is wrong with Rachael and set out to find out what's going on. The movie takes a huge unexpected turn and gives you a shocking turn of events at the end (which you will read if you decide to read the spoiler alert!)
My Take
Like I said in the beginning, this movie was amazing! Emily Browning is so good at playing those weird unusual characters like she did in "Suckerpunch". The movie is very detailed and very psychological. Just when you think you know what's going on and you've drawn your own conclusion, they throw a twist at you. I give it 5/5 stars! I recommend it to everyone!
Best Scene
The best scene in the movie (in my opinion) is the scene where Anna is in the kitchen. It is the scariest scene in the movie (considering the movie isn't really scary but more psychological). Especially since it gets really quiet and then BAM! *Warning: Jump Scare*

**!!SPOILER ALERT!!**
Like I've stated, twisted endings are my favorite and this movie has one of the best ones I've seen in a while! If you don't want to know and you want to watch the film, SCROLL UP NOW!!
So, at the end, Anna and Alex manage to kill Rachael and drag her into the dumpster outside. With bloody pajamas, they hold hands in the driveway as the father pulls in. Anna tells her father that it was Rachael who started the fire (the explosion that killed her mother). Alex jumps in and tells him that Rachael killed their mother and that he should believe them. The father is clearly ignoring Alex. Alex and Anna are tightly holding hands again. Anna tells her dad that Rachael drugged her and Alex in which the father looks at Anna as if she is crazy. Anna is trying to explain that Alex had to kill Rachael to save the both of them and encourages Alex to join in on explaining. Alex insisting that their dad is lying and telling her not to believe him. The father tells Anna that Alex died in the explosion along with her mother. Anna looks over to see that instead of holding Alex's hand, she is holding a bloody knife. She sees her sister and walks toward it only to see a light come on the reflection of herself, messy with Rachael's blood. It shows that Alex was never there, this explains why the father never seemed to talk to listen to Alex whenever she said something. Just when you thought the ending is over, they throw something small in there (that you wouldn't even notice if you don't pay attention). When Anna returns to the mental institution, the girl in the room across from hers is named "Mildred Kemp", that is the name Alex and Anna believed to be Rachael's real name. This proves that the whole movie was about Anna getting Mildred's stories about her own life mixed up with Rachael.
If this movie doesn't at least give you chills, something is wrong. I loved this movie! Please leave feedback. Tell me what you thought of the movie! Tell me what movie you want me to review next! Please give me an excuse to go to the movies lol
Thanks!!
